Castell Montgri

CASTELL MONTGRI

Castell Montgri is a lively holiday village with a wide range of exceptional facilities, situated near Estartit, a Spanish resort which is a hive of activity, both day and night.

The Castell Montgri Holiday Village has a reputation for being one of the finest holiday parks in Spain and the whole Mediterranean!

Situated on the Roqa Maura hillside with superb views across the bay of Pals and the popular stunning beach resort of Estartit, Castell Montgri is a complete holiday village that has been developed to blend in with the natural surroundings.

The Castell Montgri holiday parc is beautifully terraced, with attractive garden areas.

The park boasts three swimming pool complexes, ideal for children and teenagers, with waterslides, water chutes, and sun terraces.

The largest complex is the fabulous "Panorama" which is the focal point for all the organised entertainment.

The park has a lively entertainment programme with organised activities by day and evening entertainment right through the season.

Castell Montgri also provides a free mini bus to the beach in high season!

The children’s club offers the parents some much earned relaxation time and the children the opportunity to meet new friends.

There is a full range of activities for all ages, including the over-16s underground disco [soundproofed], whilst those looking for a quieter time can relax at the friendly bars or visit Castell Montgri’s own excellent restaurant.

Many families with young children have discovered that it is a good idea to holiday earlier or later in the year. The sun is less strong, the holiday parks are less busy as are the roads. And of course the holiday prices are lower too!

So if you’re not tied to the school holidays it is an option well worth considering.

In early summer and later in September the pace of life in the resort is wonderfully relaxed and tranquil. There is no better time to make the most of what Catalonia has to offer. You’ll find it excellent value too!

WE RECOMMEND YOU VISIT

Estartit

The resort of Estartit has 3km of broad pale sandy beach, where it is safe for children to play and paddle. An abundance of water sports are organised by English speaking instructors who are on hand to assist.

Estartit centres around an old traditional fishing port, but these days the harbour is mainly occupied by yachts and leisure craft. The pretty harbour has many port side restaurants and café bars where you can watch the world go by.  You will find a good selection of shops in the old cobbled streets and a lively market selling local goods and produce. In the evenings in the newer part of town discover bars and discos, which stay open until the early hours.

Costa Brava

Stretching from the French border down the east coast of Spain to Barcelona, there are few places which compare with the Costa Brava for superb beaches, warm sea, blue sky and a real holiday atmosphere. This is the region of Catalonia, an area steeped in history and traditions.

The Costa Brava coastline is dotted with little bays, all easy to find and perfect for diving and snorkelling. The ancient hilltop village of Pals is close by. The Medas Isles are the only islands off the Costa Brava and are a protected wildlife sanctuary. Diving off the Medas Isles is regarded as one of the top five dive centres in Europe

Barcelona

Visit Barcelona - the capital of Catalonia with its exciting shopping area, and busy pavement cafes and bars in La Ramblas district. La Sagrada Famillia is Gaudis unfinished cathedral and a must to visit. Excursions run directly from Castell Montgri.

Figueres- Home to Salvador Dali’s museum.

Gerona- The nearest city to the resort, 40km, with a good shopping area.

Pals – A medieval hamlet overlooking the bay of Pals opposite Estartit.

Medas Isles – The only islands on the Costa Brava coastline sit just off the beach of Estartit.

The Medas Isles are a protected nature sanctuary which makes for superb scuba diving and snorkelling. Glass bottom boats sail from Estartit harbour around the islands, some offer snorkelling opportunities.
